Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes – the perfect investigators? In the comedy film “Dial W For Murder”, the perfect detective is actually two characters! One of them is Magda (Anna Smołowik), the girl next door, who knows all the rules of crime stories, and the other is Jacek (Paweł Domagała), a police commissioner who faints at the sight of blood. The story of their investigation starts with an earthquake and is followed by rising tension. The film directed by Piotr Mularek will have its premiere on the 18th of June. Today, we present you with a trailer of the film.
– “Dial W for Murder” is a colourful, old-school crime comedy. I play Magda, a perfect wife and a mother of two who lives in Podkowa Leśna. Magda cannot forget about a mysterious case that happened many years ago. When she accidentally discovers a body in the village, she starts to feel an urge to solve the mystery and put her world back together. Commissioner Sikora, portrayed by Paweł Domagala, starts an investigation to find the perpetrator. Our characters try to solve the case, each of them in their own individual way. They clash with each other as often as they support one another – says Anna Smołowik.
– Sikora is the boy next door who has spent his entire life in Podkowa. Everybody knows and likes him, but nobody treats him seriously – says Paweł Domagała about the character he plays. – It is a rare occasion for an actor to star in a genre film where he can play around with extravagant form. It is always a big adventure for an actor. I recommend “Dial W for Murder” to all people who want to watch a fun, intelligent, charming film – he adds.

The director and co-writer of the film is Piotr Mularuk. “Dial W for Murder” is based on an eponymous novel by Katarzyna Gacek. The author is also a co-writer of the film.

Peaceful life in a small village, Podkowa Leśna, is disrupted by a murder. The body of the victim, a young woman, is found by Magda, a housewife and crime novel enthusiast. The investigation is conducted by police commissioner Jacek Sikora. Unfortunately, he does not have the mind of a true detective, unlike Magda. When it turns out that the victim wore a “W”-shaped pendant that belonged to a long lost friend of Magda, she decides to solve the case on her own. And that means constantly interrupting the work of the incompetent commissioner. There are many suspects, but little evidence. The clues lead to the most prominent citizens of Podkowa and even to the sheikh of Qatar… Will Magda and commissioner Sikora uncover the truth and solve the mystery of the murder?
