‘Grandpa, let’s go!’: adventure, excitement and an unusual duo on screen – see first teaser

On the occasion of Grandparents’ Day, the first teaser of the film “Granpa, let’s go!” directed by Olga Chajdas has debuted online. It is a production that in a unique way celebrates one of the most beautiful bonds – the relationship between a grandfather and granddaughter. The story of such a duet has been missing in Polish cinema! The film features an array of great actors of the older generation – Jan Peszek, Wiktor Zborowski and Włodzimierz Press. The role of the courageous granddaughter is played by Anna Nowak, her mother is played by Agnieszka Grochowska.

‘One has children, but one loves grandchildren’ – is a popular saying with a wink, which takes on a new meaning in ‘Grandpa, let’s go!’. The film shows how the unique relationship between granddaughter and grandfather can change the lives of the whole family and become the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. This humorous, adventurous and warm story combines the spirit of ‘Indiana Jones’ for young audiences with a profound message about dealing with emotions, honesty and understanding when dealing with children and beyond.

A road movie full of adventure and magic

‘Granpa, let’s go!’ is also the story of an unusual journey, which begins with the escape of the grandfather (Jan Peszek) and his granddaughter Jagoda (Anna Nowak) from the retirement home, and is to lead to the Light of the Sea – the ship about which the grandfather told Jagoda so much. And since, apart from the mother terrified by the disappearance of her daughter (Agnieszka Grochowska), a gang of villains and a dragon (seriously) are also on their trail, adventures big and small await our heroes.

Adventure, humour and important values

The film not only takes viewers on an exciting journey full of magic, but also touches on universal themes – such as honesty and openness in building bonds with children, dealing with difficult emotions and the importance of intergenerational dialogue.

Agnieszka Grochowska, who plays the role of Jeremy’s daughter and mum Jagoda in the film, greatly values the relationship that grandchildren can have with their grandparents: – ‘It’s worth nurturing this bond because it’s largely selfless.

‘Grandpa, let’s go!’ is a family cinema that proves that there is an explorer in each of us, and that every relationship – even the most difficult one – can become the beginning of a great adventure.

ABOUT THE FILM ‘GRANDPA, LET’S GO!’

One day Grandpa Jeremi causes such a commotion in the retirement home that he is in danger of being transferred to a psychiatric hospital. Marta, his daughter, agrees to take him in, although she finds this difficult, as Jeremi is unpredictable and has a vivid imagination. The situation is complicated by Jagoda, Marta’s daughter, who adores her grandfather and shares his crazy ideas. When Jeremi refuses to move in with the family, Jagoda decides to take matters into her own hands. The girl and the grandfather embark on an adventurous journey to the legendary ship Light of the Sea. They are chased by a gang of villains led by Waldemar, a rich man, and Jagoda’s terrified mother. And the dragon – a dragon moves after them too.

‘Grandpa, let’s go!’ is a film full of humour and warmth about family, adventure and the magic of imagination.

The role of Jagoda will be a debut for Anna Nowak. The role of her grandfather Jeremy will be played by Jan Peszek, her mother will be played by Agnieszka Grochowska. Other roles include Michał Majnicz, Włodzimierz Press, Wiktor Zborowski, Sonia Roszczuk. The second child role will be played by Filip Tkaczyk.

The script was written by Emil Płoszajski. Bartosz Bieniek is responsible for the cinematography. The film’s producers are Małgorzata Małysa and Karolina Galuba from Furia Film. On the same day, a special event took place at the Złote Tarasy gallery – the ‘Film Show with the Stars of ‘Kleks Academy’. Children and adults could meet their favourite heroes – Professor Kleks, Ada, Albert and Matthew the bird – in the flesh. Participants enjoyed energetic competitions, listened to live songs performed by the stars, and the whole event was crowned by touching meetings with the actors. The event was hosted by Sebastian Kowalczyk and Olivier Janiak.

There were also plenty of surprises – the audience heard the songs ‘Leń’ performed live by Czesław Mozil and ‘Życie tak jak w bajce’ by Palion, which completed the magical soundtrack of the new part of the film.

ABOUT THE FILM ‘KLEKS AND THE INVENTION OF PHILIP SHAVER’

‘Kleks and the Invention of Philip Shaver’ is a unique journey into the world of imagination, where every experience and skill gained can be a weapon in the fight against the coming evil. This time Professor Kleks is forced to return to reality and confront the technology that threatens children’s dreams, while at the Academy his place is temporarily taken by the faithful bird Matthew.

The story is full of unusual questions: can Ada Niezgódka’s love for the robot Albert restore his human heart? Will Philip Shaver’s invention – tempting children with a vision of life without imagination – change their way of thinking forever? And does fantasy still have the power to overcome modern technology?

Welcome to a world where magic and technology clash to show that imagination is the most powerful force.

Starring will be Tomasz Kot as Ambroży Kleks, Antonina Litwiniak as Ada Niezgódka and Konrad Repiński as Albert. The title role of Filip Golarz is played by Janusz Chabior, and the academy will be watched over by Sebastian Stankiewicz as the bird Mateusz. Monika Brodka and Katarzyna Nosowska will appear in supporting roles.

The screenplay for the film, on the basis of which director Maciej Kawulski was able to create the fairytale world of ‘Kleks and the invention of Filip Golarz’, was written by Krzysztof Gureczny and Agnieszka Kruk. OPEN MIND PRODUCTION is responsible for the film’s production and NEXT FILM for its distribution.

We present the first teaser of the long-awaited feature film ‘Graduation Heist’. Made on a grand scale, the revolutionary teen heist comedy is an EKIPY production. The film will be released in cinemas nationwide on 28 February.

‘Graduation Heist’ is an engaging story about first important choices, friendship and readiness for change. Fun and clever teen cinema combining an important message with quality entertainment. A spirited production about the young and for the young with bravura action in the background.

In a suspenseful teaser, viewers were given a foretaste of how well-known online personalities from social media find their way into completely new roles. The film ‘Graduation Heist’ will see the big screen debut of top Polish influencers from the Genzie group, including: Bartek Laskowski (Świeży), Hania Puchalska (HiHania), Patryk Baran (Mortalcio) Bartek Kubicki, Pola Sieczko, Kinga Banaś, Julita Różalska, Alan Kowalczewski (Posti) and Dominik Kwolczak (Kwolczi).

– ‘The most interesting and at the same time the most exciting thing is that thanks to the film, as influencers who have always worked only on the Internet, we can get into the film industry,’ says Hania Puchalska (HiHania). – ‘It’s a stressful task, because we will be seen and judged not only by our viewers, but also by other audiences, but I admit that for me this is exactly the most interesting thing, to test myself in new challenges and show a wider audience how I handle them.

The original project has also attracted some of Poland’s most respected actors. The debuting influencers are partnered by, among others, Małgorzata Foremniak, Piotr Głowacki and Jacek Koman.

– I love stories like this. Deftly balancing between what is funny and what is important, but without unnecessary moralising. And all this interwoven with an intriguing mystery and gripping action scenes,’ says Piotr Głowacki. – Working with the influencers was extremely inspiring. These young filmmakers brought a whole new energy to the set, their unique perspective on the world, and taught me some important lessons on how to handle social media.

The director of the film ‘Graduation Heist’ is Mikołaj Piszczan, for whom, like the influencers, this is also a feature film debut.

– ‘We are creating a project on a global scale, combining influencers with professional actors, which will bring freshness to both industries,’ says Łukasz Wojtyca, producer of the film and president of Ekipa Holding. – ‘This is Ekipa’s biggest project, with a huge budget and risk, but also great potential for success, which will pave the way for more global film ventures. I took this risk because I am confident that our sector has the power to grow and Laniakea Pictures has further successes ahead.

The film is written by Lukasz Zdanowski, Laniakea Pictures, Ekipa Holding and Watchout Studio are responsible for production. Distribution in Poland is handled by NEXT FILM.

“Ministranci” [Altar boys]” administer punishment for sins – shooting of Piotr Domalewski’s new film wrapped up

The shooting of Piotr Domalewski’s new film “Ministranci [Altar Boys]” has come to an end! The director of such hits as “Silent Night” and “Sexify” returns with a comedy-drama full of irony and rebellion, which is sure to surprise and move audiences. See the first official stills from the film, which will enter cinemas in 2025.

“The Altar Boys ’ is the story of a group of teenage altar boys from a poor parish who, armed with youthful rebellion and their own interpretation of the Bible, decide to bug… the confessional. Disguised like Zorro and with Robin Hood-like ambitions, they become judges in their neighbourhood world, helping those in need and meting out punishment for sins. But their mission turns into a dangerous game when the line between good and evil begins to blur.

The film’s director and screenwriter Piotr Domalewski said: ‘The Altar Boys is a film that deals with difficult topics in a light, sometimes absurd way. I wanted to create a story that would be a metaphor for the problems of today’s young people – a film that is both touching and entertaining.

The film will feature young talents, including Tobiasz Wajda, Bruno Blach-Baar and brothers Mikołaj and Filip Juszczyk, supported by acclaimed actors such as Kamila Urzędowska, Tomasz Schuchardt, Sławomir Orzechowski and Artur Paczesny.

Award-winning cinematographer Piotr Sobociński Jr. is responsible for the cinematography, perfectly capturing the harshness of the blocks of flats and the moral dilemmas of the eponymous altar boys. The film, produced by Aurum Film (‘Corpus Christi’, ‘Kos’, ‘The Last Family’), combines superhero themes with the reality of the Polish countryside – but instead of capes, the heroes wear surplices.

“The Altar Boys ’ is a story about growing up, faith and the fight against hypocrisy – told with humour, energy and distance. The film is scheduled for release in 2025, and will be distributed in Poland by NEXT FILM.

THE ALTAR BOYS

A group of teenage altar boys, frustrated by the indifferent attitude of adults and Church institutions towards social injustice, decide to implement their own unusual plan for moral renewal. Armed with youthful rebellion and their own interpretation of the Bible, they set up a bug… in the confessional to get to know their neighbours better. Masked like Zorro and with Robin Hood-like ambitions, they become judges in their neighbourhood world, helping those in need and meting out punishment for sins. However, their mission turns into a dangerous game and the boys, applying their own idealistic code of honour, begin to balance on the thin line between good and evil. Real life of the block party mixes with a mission straight out of superhero comics, but instead of capes, the heroes wear suplices.

Wanda and Tadeusz organise the celebration, to which they invite Malgorzata along with her friend, psychotherapist Grazyna. Małgorzata’s ex-husband Andrzej also turns up at the meeting, having flown in specially from Australia – and this time he is not alone. The atmosphere of the meeting quickly spirals out of control, with old conflicts and new romances leading to unexpected consequences – this time involving the local police!
‘The In-laws 3’ is a film that will show that even christenings can turn into a field of family battles, and that even betrayal does not divide as much as… the holy sacrament!

– It is a film that once again shows that nothing is taken for granted in family relationships, and that any celebration can turn into a ruthless and often absurd war in a split second. In this part, I take off more masks from the characters so that the audience gets to know them from a new side. Once again, we try not to judge but to understand. The pins that are driven into each other are sharper, because our heroes now have even more to lose – and more to gain! And all this, I hope, will bring even more emotion and laughter to the audience,’ says director Kuba Michalczuk.

The production features an all-star cast: Izabela Kuna as Wanda, Adam Woronowicz as Tadeusz, Maja Ostaszewska as Małgorzata. Marcin Dorociński returns as Andrzej. The main four are joined by Magdalena Poplawska as Grażyna – Małgorzata’s friend and psychotherapist, Wojciech Mecwaldowski as Marek – a local entrepreneur with his own ambitions, and Joachim Lamza as Wanda’s father.

The first photos from the set already give you a feel for the atmosphere of this comedy full of irony, rivalry and unexpected twists. The script was again written by Marek Modzelewski, who is also responsible for the first two parts. The film is produced by Akson Studio (‘1670’, ‘Filip’, ‘Panic Attack’), and co-produced by TVN Warner Bros. Discovery.

Distribution in Poland is handled by NEXT FILM.

From today, ‘The A(A) Team’, directed by Daniel Jaroszek and produced by Robert Kijak (NEXT FILM), can be seen on cinema screens across Poland. A new single promoting the film is also being premiered. ‘Second Dance’ is another song performed by the Lor band after ‘nanana’, which was created for the film ‘The A(A) Team’.

LISTEN ON STREAMING SERVICES

‘The A(A) Team’ is a film that entertains and moves. And so are the singles promoting it by Lor. After the lively ‘nanana’, it was time for an extremely intimate ballad. ‘Second Dance’ is a song that appears in one of the most emotional scenes in the film.

– ‘Second Dance’ was written quickly and as soon as we wrote it, we felt that we didn’t need to look any further because we had what we needed and we just hoped that the filmmakers would like it too. We are very happy that they did and can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction. We may be ashamed to admit it, but we cried at one of the first screenings ourselves,’ say the artists from Lor.

Both the ‘nanana’ and the ‘Second Dance’ will be featured on the band’s latest album ‘Wives of Hollywood’, scheduled for release on 11.10.2024.
