About the Festival:
The second edition of the Bydgoszcz Film Song Festival is fast approaching. Owing to the participation of international artists and the development of its formula, the event is changing its name to Film Song Festival Bydgoszcz.
The festival will begin on 6 January and run until 11 January 2026. Its highlights will be 2 concerts broadcast by TVN Warner Bros Discovery.
Following the undeniable success of the festival’s first edition, the organisers decided to expand its formula and invite as many residents of Bydgoszcz and the entire Kujawy-Pomorze region as possible to take part in this celebration of film song. The festival will therefore last as long as 6 days, and the programme will be enriched with meetings with artists, vocal competitions for amateurs, preview film screenings, as well as attractions for the youngest and oldest audiences.
On Tuesday 6 January, a concert will be held to mark the 20th anniversary of Jan Kidawa-Błoński’s film “Skazany na bluesa”. At the Teatr Kameralny, songs by the band Dżem will be performed by Karolina Czarnecka, Dawid Karpiuk and Tymon Tymański. The special guests will be Tomasz Kot and the film’s director. Thursday marks the opening of the Festival Town, which will run in the Młyny Rothera until Saturday. It will be an open space full of attractions for residents of the city and the region. At the Municipal Culture Centre, audiences will also be able to watch special preview film screenings. For talented young artists from the Kujawy-Pomorze region, the organisers have once again prepared Master Class workshops, led by Mieczysław Szcześniak (vocals), Tomasz Kot (acting) and Daniel Jaroszek (music videos).
The festival weekend of 10-11 January promises to be particularly impressive. On Saturday we will hear the concert “Piosenki filmem pisane”, presenting songs from the latest film and series productions. The evening will be hosted by Andrzej Konopka and Sebastian Stankiewicz, with Marcin Dorociński and Adam Woronowicz as special guests. The musical stars will include Ralph Kamiński, Kasia Sienkiewicz, Igor Herbut, Margaret and Czesław Mozil. The Saturday concert will air on TVN on Monday, 12 January at 8:55 p.m.
The festival Sunday, 11 January, is planned as an Oscar day. The evening gala will be hosted by Grażyna Torbicka, and viewers will be able to immerse themselves in a cinematic atmosphere during a concert devoted to the most famous Oscar-winning songs. Hits that have forever gone down in cinema history will be performed by, among others, Natalia Kukulska, Anna Maria Jopek, Grzegorz Turnau, Tomasz Organek and British pop star Calum Scott.
