The gala premiere of “The A(A) Team”, directed by Daniel Jaroszek, took place in Warsaw. The new film from the creators of the hit “Johnny” is a gripping story about mutual support that helps people overcome their own weaknesses. Here are the photos from the event. “The A(A) Team” opens in cinemas across Poland on Friday.

The premiere was attended by Danuta Stenka, Magdalena Cielecka, Maria Sobocińska, Łukasz Simlat, Michał Żurawski, Mikołaj Kubacki and Piotr Trojan, who could be seen on the big screen that evening. Among the many guests were Tomasz Kot, Bartosz Gelner and Karolina Gorczyca with Krzysztof Czeczot.

DANCING THEIR WAY INTO CINEMAS

The red carpet also welcomed the band Lor, who composed two songs especially for “The A(A) Team”. The first of them – the single “nananan” – is a song that makes it hard to stand still, so we are rushing to help with a tutorial for learning the choreography from the film.

And tomorrow sees the premiere of Lor’s next single from “The A(A) Team” – “drugi taniec”.

ABOUT “THE A(A) TEAM”

Four cross-addicted alcoholics, in order to save their therapy centre, take on the job of smuggling two tankers of spirit across the whole of Poland. For their own safety, they kidnap their therapist. The journey, however, turns out to be more dangerous than they expected, because they are being followed by a Customs Officer (Magdalena Cielecka), who is not quite who she claims to be. From then on, everything gets complicated. Will Leszek (Michał Żurawski), Wiola (Danuta Stenka), Dominik (Mikołaj Kubacki), Karolina (Maria Sobocińska) and Wojtek (Łukasz Simlat) manage to complete the mission – without giving in to their weaknesses and without breaking off their therapy?

– I hope the film will give viewers pause for thought, because a huge part of our nation doesn’t even realise they are addicted. I also hope “The A(A) Team” will leave people with the feeling that it is always worth fighting for yourself and your loved ones. That the support of another person has truly enormous power and can bring those who have lost their way back onto the right path – said Michał Żurawski before the premiere.

– For people struggling with addiction, “The A(A) Team” may become an inspiration for change, as it presents the road to sobriety as achievable. Very bumpy, but still real. And the form in which it does so highlights something that often escapes productions on similar themes: that psychotherapy does not mean turning your life into something monumental and deadly serious, and that humour is an important element in the fight for yourself – says addiction therapist and integrative psychotherapist Anna Prokop.

The screenplay was written by Jacek Wasilewski and Tomasz Kwaśniewski, and the film was directed by Daniel Jaroszek. “The A(A) Team” is another in-house production from NEXT FILM, produced by Robert Kijak.

A novel of the same title, based on the screenplay of “The A(A) Team”, has also been published. The book is available both as an ebook and in paperback.
