On Monday, 18 December, the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera in Warsaw hosted the gala premiere of “Kleks Academy”. The event drew crowds of stars eagerly awaiting Maciej Kawulski’s new film. “Kleks Academy” opens in cinemas across Poland on 5 January – and can be seen in selected cinemas from 25 December.
The gala premiere at the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera was attended by the film’s creators, including director Maciej Kawulski and producer Tomasz Wardyn, as well as cast members Antonina Litwiniak, Tomasz Kot, Piotr Fronczewski, Danuta Stenka, Sebastian Stankiewicz, Agnieszka Grochowska, Daniel Walasek and Konrad Repiński.
The premiere attracted throngs of Kleks fans. Both the older ones, who had waited 40 years to plunge back into their favourite fairy-tale world, and the younger ones, for whom Maciej Kawulski’s film is their first encounter with Jan Brzechwa’s iconic academy. On the red carpet, the biggest stars of the cultural world mingled with celebrated athletes. The guests included: Ralph Kamiński, Monika Brodka, Monika Olejnik, Arkadiusz Jakubik, Mamed Khalidov, Małgorzata Socha, Omenaa Mensah, Edyta and Cezary Pazura, Joanna Jędrzejczak, Julia Wieniawa and Nikodem Rozbicki, Jan Błachowicz, Olga Bołądź, IGO, Friz and Wersow, Małgorzata Ostrowska, Jarosław Bieniuk, L.U.C., Lotek, Łukasz Juras Jurkowski, Lexy Chaplin.
The magical evening was hosted by Olivier Janiak. The screening of “Kleks Academy” ended with a standing ovation.
What is “Kleks Academy” about?
Imagine a world created by boundless imagination. A world where you can smell a colour and hear its taste. It is a world drawn by a child’s mind – but just as every drawing has its outlines, so every world, even the most beautiful one, has its rules. What if you break them? This fairy tale is only just being written… And it is being written by outstanding Polish actors – including Tomasz Kot as Ambroży Kleks and Antonina Litwiniak as Ada Niezgódka. Piotr Fronczewski also appears on screen as the mysterious Doctor.
The screenplay, on the basis of which director Maciej Kawulski was able to create the fairy-tale world of “Kleks Academy”, was written by Krzysztof Gureczny and Agnieszka Kruk. The film is produced by OPEN MIND PRODUCTION and distributed by NEXT FILM.
“Kleks Academy” hits cinemas on 5 January, but viewers can already treat themselves and their loved ones to a special Christmas gift – tickets to the preview screenings, which begin on 25 December.
