The tournament, cash and superfans – these are the life PRIRITIES of ten-year-old e-sportsman Waldek. From now on, Waldek’s life will have to move at a somewhat different pace… We present the trailer and poster for “Too Old for Fairy Tales”, directed by Kristoffer Rus. In cinemas from 18 March.

Friendship put to the test, first love, the trials of growing up, a gaming tournament and – as if that were not enough – grown-ups who always know best… The young heroes of “Too Old for Fairy Tales” do not have it easy. Waldek, Staszek and Delfina are played by rising screen stars: Maciek Karaś, Patryk Siemek and Amelia Fijałkowska. The young actors will prove that #KidsHavePower.

“Our on-screen Waldek is an absolute discovery. I am very grateful for this collaboration and commitment, which built a rarely seen chemistry between the young actors and the more experienced ones.” – says Kristoffer Rus about the film’s hero.

As the director mentioned, “Too Old for Fairy Tales” is not only about its child heroes – they are supported by actors well known to audiences: Karolina Gruszka, Dorota Kolak and Andrzej Grabowski. Thanks to this blend of childlike freshness and adult experience, the result is a film that is the perfect choice for a family trip to the cinema.

The life of Waldek (Maciej Karaś), filled mainly with computer games, is hit by a real earthquake. While his mother (Karolina Gruszka) is away, he is left in the care of his crazy, unpredictable aunt (Dorota Kolak), who introduces discipline – something entirely foreign to him – and imposes new responsibilities. But although his extraordinary relative puts Waldek through a real survival camp, along the way the boy receives from her the most valuable lesson of his life.

The film is co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and co-produced by the Mazovia and Warsaw Film Fund. The film is produced by Pokromski Studio.

The screenplay is based on the book of the same title and was written by its author, Agnieszka Dąbrowska. The book has received so many positive reviews from parents and teachers that it has even been hailed as required reading for children.
