“Johnny” is a heart-tugging film based on a true story about how everyone deserves a second chance. When Patryk is given a chance by father Jan Kaczkowski, he does not suspect that this opportunity will completely transform his life. The main roles will be played by Dawid Ogrodnik and Piotr Trojan. These two actors will be joined on the set by, among others: Anna Dymna, Witold Dębicki, Maria Pakulnis and Marta Stalmierska. We present you with the poster and teaser of the film, which will hit the screens on the 23rd of September.
– I wrote this story to convince even the most depressed person that starting a new, happy life is possible even if in the most extreme and unimaginable circumstances. It is a story where life and love prevail. A true story – says Maciej Kraszewski, the screenwriter.
The role of father Jan Kaczkowski, who is a person admired by the religious community and atheists alike, will be played by Dawid Ogrodnik. Patryk Galewski will be played by Piotr Trojan, who has been repeatedly awarded for his part in “25 Years of Innocence. The Case of Tomek Komenda”. Oher actors we will see on the screen include, among others: Magdalena Czerwińska, Anna Dymna, Maria Pakulnis, Marta Stalmierska, Witold Dębicki, Michał Kaleta and Joachim Lamża.
– Jan was exceptional because of his straightforward attitude towards religion, which, in his opinion, was mostly about having deep respect for other people and, what is even more important, about acting based on love towards another person – says Dawid Ogrodnik about the character he plays.
– As usual when playing real-life characters, the role is not easy, but Patryk is a fantastic character to play. A hooligan, criminal, student, teacher, chef, father, nurse. Patryk is composed of all these different roles – he is more than just a single character. The role, which seemed to be simple, turned out to be extremely complicated. It was full of significant changes and internal contrasts — comments Piotr Trojan on the character he plays.
The director of the film is Daniel Jaroszek, who up to this moment has carried out projects in the advertising industry. “Johnny” will be his first feature film. Daniel has three Advertising Creators Club swords for projects he has done with Papaya Films.

“Johnny” is a true story that inspires and touches people’s hearts. It is told from the perspective of father Jan Kaczkowski’s protégé – Patryk Galewski, a boy with a difficult start in life.
Patryk breaks into a house in a small town. He is sentenced to community service at the hospice in Puck, where he meets father Jan Kaczkowski, who is quite an unusual person. The priest engages young boys from the vocational school who seem to be tough and rebellious, into helping the sick. In his work, he focuses on intimacy, affection and the struggle to establish a connection with other people. He teaches empathy. And he does it with a great sense of humour, which gains him huge popularity. Shortly afterwards, father Jan becomes a patient himself. Patryk is put in a position that will change his entire life.
