Movie description
In the end of the 1950s Fabian, a war immigrant, trombone player and excellent dancer returns to Poland. He starts a jazz band with a group of local eccentrics and amateur musicians, which quickly rises in popularity. Fabian meets an intriguing Modesta, who soon starts singing in his band, and the two become lovers. ‘The king and queen of swing’, two ‘colourful birds’, struggle together against the grim reality of the times. One day, Modesta suddenly disappears, and the love story turns into a spy tale, about dreams and the yearning to be a part of the West.
