A SEQUEL? IT’S ALL IN THE AUDIENCE’S HANDS!
Every day, fans of “Graduation Heist” shower the creators with questions about a sequel. It turns out they themselves can have a real influence on whether it gets made. Łukasz Wojtyca, the film’s producer, has announced that a sequel is becoming ever more realistic – but for it to happen, “Graduation Heist” must reach an audience of one million in cinemas. So it’s all in the viewers’ hands!
– It is a great joy to see our film reach audiences with such force. Their reactions and engagement are priceless – the turnout in cinemas, the emotions after screenings, the conversations that linger long afterwards. Thanks to the exceptional commitment of our influencer cast – present at dozens of screenings across Poland – this project has become something more than a film. It is a phenomenon the like of which we have not seen in Polish cinemas. If we pass one million viewers, the second instalment of “Graduation Heist” will become a fact – says Łukasz Wojtyca, the film’s producer and CEO of Ekipa Holding.
WHAT IS THE FILM “GRADUATION HEIST” ABOUT?
Kapsel is a final-year high-school party animal who cares far more about his tight-knit group of friends than about his school-leaving exams. When it dawns on him that finishing high school also means the break-up of his crew, he decides to derail everyone’s university plans and give them one more year of carefree fun together. To save his friends from the hardships of entering adulthood, he plans to hack into the Ministry of Education’s innovative IT system and change the exam results. For this audacious operation he recruits a group of students with the slimmest chances of passing their finals and… his long-unseen grandfather, a man full of questionable life wisdom. Will Kapsel’s brilliant plan succeed? Will the boy manage to change the course of events and keep his friends by his side?
“Graduation Heist” is a gripping story about first important choices, friendship and readiness for change, featuring Poland’s top influencers. Funny and smart cinema for teenagers, combining an important message with quality entertainment. A production made with great panache, about the young and for the young, with daring action in the background.
The film was directed and conceived by Mikołaj Piszczan, the screenwriter is Łukasz Zdanowski, and production is handled by Laniakea Pictures, Ekipa Holding and Watchout Studio. Distribution in Poland is handled by NEXT FILM.
