“Grandpa, Let’s Go!” – three generations and… a dragon, united by a shared adventure. Directed by Olga Chajdas, this family film is an original production in which live action interweaves with elements of animation. A captivating story about life’s most important values and the magic of imagination – “Grandpa, Let’s Go!” hits cinemas on 9 May. Today we present the film’s trailer.

 

WITH HUMOUR AND A MESSAGE

– The screenplay is intelligent, very witty, surprising, written in superb, authentic language. With a great understanding of my on-screen granddaughter’s generation – says the actor playing Grandpa Jeremi, Jan Peszek.

– The film touches on many themes connected with family relationships, growing up, responsibility, addiction and the passage of time. But above all, it is an adventure road movie! Its message is that happiness is almost always within reach. And if for some reason we cannot grasp it at a given moment, our loved ones should come to our aid – says the film’s screenwriter Emil Płoszajski – My dream is that after the screening, younger viewers will appreciate even more the value of healthy family relationships – and of life in general. And that, without giving up risk-taking entirely, they will draw with greater trust on the experience of older family members who are ready to share it. And that the older generation, in turn, will open up to the possibility that the relay of generations can be deeply meaningful when it takes place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and love.

AN ADVENTURE-FILLED JOURNEY IN EXCEPTIONAL COMPANY

The extraordinary grandfather-granddaughter duo is played by Jan Peszek and Anna Nowak, who makes her big-screen debut in the role of Jagoda. They are joined by Agnieszka Grochowska, Michał Majnicz, Włodzimierz Press, Wiktor Zborowski and Sonia Roszczuk. The second child role is played by Filip Tkaczyk.

The film is directed by Olga Chajdas. The screenplay was written by Emil Płoszajski. Cinematography is by Bartosz Bieniek. The film is produced by Małgorzata Małysa and Karolina Galuba of Furia Film. Distribution is handled by NEXT FILM. synopsis:

One day, Grandpa Jeremi causes such a commotion at his retirement home that he risks being transferred to a psychiatric hospital. His daughter Marta agrees to take him in, although it is hard for her, because Jeremi is unpredictable and has a vivid imagination. Things are complicated by Jagoda, Marta’s daughter, who adores her grandfather and shares his crazy ideas. When Jeremi refuses to live with the family, Jagoda decides to take matters into her own hands. The girl and her grandfather set off on an adventure-filled journey to the legendary ship, the Light of the Sea. In pursuit are a gang of villains led by the wealthy Waldemar, and Jagoda’s terrified mum. Oh, and a dragon – a dragon sets off after them too.

“Grandpa, Let’s Go!” is a family film full of humour and warmth about life’s most important values, adventure and the magic of imagination.
