“Graduation Heist” – the large-scale action comedy under the Ekipa banner, which debuted on cinema screens last Friday, has already been seen by 324,000 viewers. This makes it the best opening-weekend result in this year’s box office.

“Graduation Heist”, a story full of emotion and humour about high-schoolers stepping into adulthood, has won the hearts of audiences across the country. The film, which generated enormous interest from the very first announcements, has lived up to the expectations of both young audiences and older viewers who look back on their school years with nostalgia.
– The audience reactions after the first weekend in cinemas are thrilling! It is hugely satisfying for us to see our innovative approach – combining influencers with genre cinema – meet with such an enthusiastic reception. The performances of the online creators have not only been appreciated – they have downright delighted audiences with their authenticity and charisma. Most importantly, the film engages and entertains not only fans of the influencers but a broad cinema audience. “Graduation Heist” shows that Polish youth cinema has enormous potential and can deliver entertainment of the highest calibre! – comments the film’s producer Łukasz Wojtyca, CEO of Ekipa Holding.
Don’t put off buying your cinema tickets, because only until the end of the week will the influencers appearing in the film: Bartek Laskowski (Świeży), Hania Puchalska (HiHania), Patryk Baran (Mortalcio) Bartek Kubicki, Pola Sieczko, Kinga Banaś, Julita Różalska, Alan Kowalczewski (Posti), Dominik Kwolczak (Kwolczi), Patryk Lubaś (Qry) be turning up at selected screenings to personally welcome audiences and thank them for the support they have shown the creators since the project began. The marketing campaign and influencer engagement around the film is the first undertaking of this scale in Poland.
“Graduation Heist” is available with audio description. It can be used via the Audiomovie and Kino Dostępne apps.
What is the film “Graduation Heist” about?
Kapsel is a final-year high-school party animal who cares far more about his tight-knit group of friends than about his school-leaving exams. When it dawns on him that finishing high school also means the break-up of his crew, he decides to derail everyone’s university plans and give them one more year of carefree fun together. To save his friends from the hardships of entering adulthood, he plans to hack into the Ministry of Education’s innovative IT system and change the exam results. For this audacious operation he recruits a group of students with the slimmest chances of passing their finals and… his long-unseen grandfather, a man full of questionable life wisdom. Will Kapsel’s brilliant plan succeed? Will the boy manage to change the course of events and keep his friends by his side?
“Graduation Heist” is a gripping story about first important choices, friendship and readiness for change, featuring Poland’s top influencers. Funny and smart cinema for teenagers, combining an important message with quality entertainment. A production made with great panache, about the young and for the young, with daring action in the background.
The film was directed and conceived by Mikołaj Piszczan, the screenwriter is Łukasz Zdanowski, and production is handled by Laniakea Pictures, Ekipa Holding and Watchout Studio. Distribution in Poland is handled by NEXT FILM.
