‘Grandpa, let’s go!’: adventure, excitement and an unusual duo on screen – see first teaser

On the occasion of Grandparents’ Day, the first teaser of the film “Granpa, let’s go!” directed by Olga Chajdas has debuted online. It is a production that in a unique way celebrates one of the most beautiful bonds – the relationship between a grandfather and granddaughter. The story of such a duet has been missing in Polish cinema! The film features an array of great actors of the older generation – Jan Peszek, Wiktor Zborowski and Włodzimierz Press. The role of the courageous granddaughter is played by Anna Nowak, her mother is played by Agnieszka Grochowska.

‘One has children, but one loves grandchildren’ – is a popular saying with a wink, which takes on a new meaning in ‘Grandpa, let’s go!’. The film shows how the unique relationship between granddaughter and grandfather can change the lives of the whole family and become the beginning of an unforgettable adventure. This humorous, adventurous and warm story combines the spirit of ‘Indiana Jones’ for young audiences with a profound message about dealing with emotions, honesty and understanding when dealing with children and beyond.

A road movie full of adventure and magic

‘Granpa, let’s go!’ is also the story of an unusual journey, which begins with the escape of the grandfather (Jan Peszek) and his granddaughter Jagoda (Anna Nowak) from the retirement home, and is to lead to the Light of the Sea – the ship about which the grandfather told Jagoda so much. And since, apart from the mother terrified by the disappearance of her daughter (Agnieszka Grochowska), a gang of villains and a dragon (seriously) are also on their trail, adventures big and small await our heroes.

Adventure, humour and important values

The film not only takes viewers on an exciting journey full of magic, but also touches on universal themes – such as honesty and openness in building bonds with children, dealing with difficult emotions and the importance of intergenerational dialogue.

Agnieszka Grochowska, who plays the role of Jeremy’s daughter and mum Jagoda in the film, greatly values the relationship that grandchildren can have with their grandparents: – ‘It’s worth nurturing this bond because it’s largely selfless.

‘Grandpa, let’s go!’ is a family cinema that proves that there is an explorer in each of us, and that every relationship – even the most difficult one – can become the beginning of a great adventure.

ABOUT THE FILM ‘GRANDPA, LET’S GO!’

One day Grandpa Jeremi causes such a commotion in the retirement home that he is in danger of being transferred to a psychiatric hospital. Marta, his daughter, agrees to take him in, although she finds this difficult, as Jeremi is unpredictable and has a vivid imagination. The situation is complicated by Jagoda, Marta’s daughter, who adores her grandfather and shares his crazy ideas. When Jeremi refuses to move in with the family, Jagoda decides to take matters into her own hands. The girl and the grandfather embark on an adventurous journey to the legendary ship Light of the Sea. They are chased by a gang of villains led by Waldemar, a rich man, and Jagoda’s terrified mother.
