The creators of the films “The Peasants” and “Doppelgänger. The Double” received the Eagles – Polish Film Awards yesterday. Our last year’s premieres were awarded three statuettes, including the Audience Award (the winner was selected by voting by Internet users).
Painting animation, directed by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman, received the Audience Award. The BreakThru Films production brought an Eagle for Best Music to Lukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski for the film’s acclaimed soundtrack. The most famous track from the album, “Autumn – Dance”, has so far garnered 8.3 million views on You Tube and more than 15 million on Spotify.
These aren’t the only recent recognition for “The Peasants” – Kamila Urzędowska, the film’s Jagna, received the European Shooting Stars – Rising Star of European Cinema award from European Film Promotion at the 74th IFF in Berlin.
“Doppelgänger. The Double,” a psychological thriller produced by TVN Warner Bros. Discovery brought the statuette for Best Supporting Actor to Tomasz Schuchardt. This is another collaboration between the actor and director Jan Holoubek.
