Waldek never really missed having a dad – until someone tried to take his place.
Everything in Waldek’s life seems to be heading in the right direction: his gaming trio TWO KINGS AND QUEEN is winning one match after another, and Aunt Mariolka has cut her antics down to the bare minimum. Most importantly, his mum is healthy again. Unfortunately, she has met a new boyfriend, Piotr. This master of lame jokes and cringe gets on Waldek’s nerves from the very start. His presence also forces Waldek to ask himself some uncomfortable questions: where is his real dad? A trip to the Tatra Mountains brings a chance to finally meet him. With the help of his closest friends, Staszek and Delfina, Waldek sets off to get answers to his many questions.
The sequel to Agnieszka Dąbrowska’s beloved novel once again brings tears – of laughter and of emotion alike. Brimming with situational and verbal humour, the novel touches on the things that matter most: family, friendship and gradually becoming an adult.
“Too Old for Fairy Tales”, the film directed by Kristoffer Rus from a screenplay by Agnieszka Dąbrowska, turned out to be an international Netflix hit. Part two of the story hits cinemas on 15 March.
