NEXT FILM’s titles with 22 nominations to Eagles – Polish Film Awards

Our three titles – “Doppelgänger. Doppelganger”, “Chłopi” and “Kleks’ Academy” – were among the nominees for the Eagles – Polish Film Awards. The films received a total of 22 nominations in 15 categories! The winners will be announced on March 4.

The biggest Polish cinema hit of 2023 – “The Peasants” – received 8 nominations. The painting animation directed by DK Welchman and Hugh Welchman, produced by BreakThru Films, competes in 8 categories: best film (DK Welchman, Hugh Welchman), best leading female role (Kamila Urzędowska), best supporting female role (Ewa Kasprzyk), best music ( Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski), best costumes (Katarzyna Lewińska), best sound (Michał Jankowski) and Discovery of the year (Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski and Kamila Urzędowska). “The Peasants” got over 1.8 million admissions in Poland. The special edition of the novel by Wladysław Reymont, illustrated with the works of painters from the film crew and the album with the soundtrack also turned out to be a great success.

“Doppelgänger. Doppelganger”, a psychological thriller directed by Jan Holoubek, produced by TVN Warner Bros. Discovery received 13 nominations. It has a chance for statuettes in the following categories: best film and best director (Jan Holoubek), best screenplay (Andrzej Gołda), best leading male role (Jakub Gierszał), best supporting female role (Katarzyna Herman), best supporting male role (Tomasz Schuchardt) , best costumes (Weronika Orlińska), best editing (Rafał Listopad), best sound (Kacper Habisiak, Marcin Kasiński and Przemysław Kamieński), best make-up (Mirela Zawiszewska and Justyna Osińska), best cinematography (Bartłomiej Kaczmarek), best set design (Marek Warszewski , Maciej Fajst), best music (Jan Komar), best cinematography (Bartłomiej Kaczmarek).

This year’s hit, that had pre-premiere screenings n December, was also nominated – “Kleks’ Academy”, directed by Maciej Kawulski, produced by Open Mind Productions, was appreciated in the best make-up category (Karolina Kordas and Alina Janerka). “Kleks’ Academy” so far has over 2 million 300 admissions and is still in cinemas.
