“IN-LAWS 2” – WILL THEY LOSE CONTROL AGAIN?

The in-laws are back! The second instalment of the comedy hit — a favourite with audiences and critics alike — is directed by Kalina Alabrudzińska. On screen we will once again see Maja Ostaszewska, Izabela Kuna and Adam Woronowicz. Eryk Kulm Jr joins the cast. “In-Laws 2” arrives in cinemas on 15 September.

Will there be a wedding this time? Weronika and Łukasz — the almost-newlyweds from the first film — decide to give themselves a second chance and invite the family to their wedding and reception in a seaside town. Among the guests are characters viewers already know well: Wanda and Tadeusz with their dog Mirelka, as well as the divorced Małgorzata accompanied by… Jan, a dozen or so years her junior, and by her mother. The sea, the drinks and the scantily clad beachgoers all make the members of the couple’s families open up more and more, dropping one mask after another.

Maja Ostaszewska, Izabela Kuna and Adam Woronowicz met again on the set of “In-Laws 2”. They have been joined by Eryk Kulm Jr, who explains why he took the role of Jan:

What interested me most about the project was the wonderful cast which, as it later turned out, I had the enormous pleasure of getting to meet. Wonderful actors and wonderful people. I was able to learn a great deal from them. They welcomed me incredibly warmly, because joining the second part of such an excellent film as a new character is quite a challenge. Especially when the actors are so phenomenal. Luckily, they never let me feel that pressure — quite the opposite, they treated me as one of their own, and I think we truly found a common language. Apart from the actors, I was of course also drawn by the screenplay — the first film was a wonderfully written, incredibly funny and superbly told story, so with that many arguments in its favour, it would have been a sin not to take the role.

As with the first film, the screenplay is by Marek Modzelewski and the film is directed by Kalina Alabrudzińska.

The film is produced by AKSON STUDIO. The co-producers are TVN Warner Bros. Discovery and NEXT FILM. The film is distributed in Poland by NEXT FILM.

The film was made in Poland with financial support granted under the Act on Financial Support for Audiovisual Production by the Polish Film Institute from the funds of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
