“IF I WERE YOU” – A COMEDY ABOUT AN UNEXPECTED SWAP, IN CINEMAS FROM 6 JANUARY!

“If I Were You”, a TVN Warner Bros. Discovery production, is a witty comedy with a deeper layer that will allow viewers not only to escape the everyday, but also to look at their loved ones differently. The film directed by Antonio Galdámez debuts in cinemas on 6 January. It stars Paulina Gałązka (“Dziewczyny z Dubaju”, “Furioza”) and Miron Jagniewski (“Tajemnica zawodowa”). They are joined on screen by Maria Pakulnis, Magdalena Lamparska, Jan Frycz, Michał Czernecki and Delfina Wilkońska, among others. Today we present the film’s poster.

They wanted a change, not a swap!

Kaśka and Krzysiek are a young, attractive married couple with an adorable little son and a flat in a picturesque neighbourhood. They seem to have every reason to be happy, and yet they are on the verge of divorce. They spend every day the same way – arguing. Until one morning, when they suddenly have to cooperate like never before. All because of… a body swap. From now on Krzysiek is Kaśka and Kaśka is Krzysiek. Each of them has to take over the other’s duties and face problems they never even knew existed… Will this make them see each other differently and learn empathy? The body swap is merely a device the filmmakers use to say a few perceptive things about the world we live in.

The comedy “If I Were You” features acclaimed stars of Polish cinema, including Maria Pakulnis, Magdalena Lamparska, Michał Czernecki and Jan Frycz, who says this about the film:

– “If I Were You” is about tolerance. About how it may be worth accepting in ourselves what others accept in us, and giving in to it a little. Sometimes, to understand more, you need to look at your own behaviour from a different perspective.

– It is a film about entering real, adult life. About how to be in a relationship and how important it is to know how to talk to each other. What charmed me most about the screenplay is that this story is close to life. We don’t have to pretend anything. And on top of that, everything is constructed in such a way that alongside the good, wise things there is also wit and absurdity – adds Maria Pakulnis, who plays Kaśka’s mother.

The perfect balance between what is funny and what makes you think is also highlighted by Magdalena Lamparska, who plays Edyta in “If I Were You”.

– The screenplay is light and funny, but it touches on important subjects. I have a feeling viewers will be able to have a good time while also reflecting on something, experiencing something, feeling something.

The lead roles of both Kaśka and Krzysiek are played by Paulina Gałązka and Miron Jagniewski, joined on screen by Maria Pakulnis, Magdalena Lamparska, Jan Frycz, Michał Czernecki and Delfina Wilkońska, among others. The screenplay was written by Łukasz Światowiec and Anna Bielak.
