The gala premiere of “Apokawixa”, directed by Xawery Żuławski, took place at the Helios cinema in Warsaw. We present a photo gallery from the premiere. The TVN Warner Bros. Discovery production is in cinemas across Poland from today.

“Apokawixa”, hailed as the craziest, most out-there film of the year, delighted critics and audiences at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. The film won 4 awards – the Golden Claw in the Visions Apart section, best casting (Marta Kownacka) and best acting debut (Marta Stalmierska), as well as the Award of the Festivals and Reviews of Polish Film Abroad. Reviews and opinions describe “Apokawixa” as “absurdly good”, “the Polish [Project X] and the zombie apocalypse we needed” and “entertainment in its purest form”.

Sometimes a hangover is not the worst thing that can happen to you… “Apokawixa” is the story of a group of high-school seniors who – worn out by successive lockdowns – decide to throw the “party of a lifetime” at the seaside. Despite alarmingly high levels of cyanobacteria in the Baltic and cases of strange infections, at first everything goes as normal – beach, dancing, sex, drinking, romantic highs and heartbreaks. Yet minute by minute, everything begins to spiral out of control. In the middle of the party, a zombie epidemic breaks out. The characters must fight for their lives.
