“Good heavens. So much of everything is going to waste” – frets father-in-law Tadeusz in the back room of the wedding hall. One thing is certain – the main characters of the comedy “In-Laws” will not waste the chance, after their children’s called-off wedding, to sort a few things out. Bluntly, and with no regard for keeping up appearances – as befits the family they almost became. “In-Laws”, with Maja Ostaszewska, Marcin Dorociński, Izabela Kuna and Adam Woronowicz, comes to cinemas in just a month. Today we present the artistic poster.

The artistic poster was created by Plakiat Maks Bereski. The photo session with the characters was the work of Gosia Turczyńska.

In just a few days, “In-Laws” will be presented as part of Polish Days, the industry event of the New Horizons festival in Wrocław.

MEET THE IN-LAWS

Before “In-Laws” hits cinemas, audiences will have a chance to get to know them a little better.

“Father/husband/milkman” – that is how Tadeusz, played in the film by Adam Woronowicz, introduces himself on Instagram. We invite you to follow Tadeusz on Instagram: tesc_tadeusz.

Videos in which the characters let us into their world are also appearing online one by one. Like this one, in which Andrzej (Marcin Dorociński) introduces his wife, Małgorzata (Maja Ostaszewska):

Maja Ostaszewska, in turn, says this about her character: – Małgorzata is a very strong, domineering woman. She is intelligent, elegant, sophisticated, and at the same time she can be nasty, condescending and very spiteful. There are scenes, dialogues and situations in the film that are very funny. But what won me over in the screenplay is that it also has poignant, moving moments. We show a woman who, like a modern-day Mrs Dulska, tries with all her might to keep her seemingly perfect life in check while everything around her is falling apart. The relationships are superficial. Though she seems a perfect snow queen, inside she feels lonely and misunderstood. Each of the characters, while having strong comedic potential, has a breakthrough moment along the way.

WHAT CAN HAPPEN WHEN TEMPERS FRAY

Is a wedding reception after a called-off wedding a recipe for disaster? Absolutely. And what a disaster! The two families differ in everything – background, status, the contents of their wallets, taste. The parents of the groom (Maja Ostaszewska, Marcin Dorociński) and of the bride (Izabela Kuna, Adam Woronowicz) are initially in shock. What happened? Whose fault is it? What about the reception? Should they greet the guests? Play the music? Pour the vodka? Who will cut the cake? One word leads to another, and polite smiles turn into a public airing of dirty laundry. Until finally a real bombshell drops… Meanwhile, the reception spins into a wild party. And nobody minds the absence of the bride and groom.
