2022 marks 10 years since the founding of NEXT FILM. From the very beginning, the company has been distributing Polish cinema, and in May 2017 it expanded its activities into film production. The first film produced by NEXT FILM was “Plan B”, directed by Kinga Dębska. In 2022, its second in-house production – “Johnny”, directed by Daniel Jaroszek – will have its premiere.
Over ten years of operation, NEXT FILM has released 61 titles in cinemas (as of July 2022). Together, they have drawn more than 22 million viewers to cinemas. They have won 44 awards at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, 31 Polish Film Awards (Eagles), 5 awards at the Mastercard OFF CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema, 2 at the Camerimage festival, 3 European Film Awards, an award at the Sundance Film Festival, as well as Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.
To celebrate the anniversary, NEXT FILM invites cinema industry representatives and audiences to join in the fun – the NEXT FILM 10th anniversary poll. The nominees in 4 categories (NEXT FILM Film of the Decade, Best Poster, Best Duo, Best Song) will be selected by cinema operators, and audiences will decide the winners.
