„Ikar. Legenda Mietka Kosza” (Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz), Maciej Pieprzyca’s new film, swept the awards ceremony at this year’s Feature Film Festival in Gdynia! The film received the most, i.e. six awards, including Silver Lions. Two awards were given to “Ukryta gra” (The Coldest Game) by Łukasz Kośmicki, including the Special Jury Prize. Magdalena Boczarska was also honored at the gala for her leading female role. The actress was awarded for her role in “Piłsudski”.
„Ikar. Legenda Mietka Kosza” (Icarus. The Legend of Mietek Kosz), is Maciej Pieprzyca’s third film awarded “Silver Lions”. The film was also awarded for the best music, the award went to Leszek Możdżer. For the best leading male role David Ogrodnik was awarded. The film also won the award for best cinematography by Witold Płóciennik, Agata Culak was awarded for best costumes. The award for the best make-up was given to Jolanta Danda. Yesterday, “Ikar” also received the Złoty Klakier for the longest-applauded film of the festival. The film will be released in cinemas on 18th of October.
“Ukryta gra” (The Coldest Game) by Łukasz Kośmicki, apart from the Special Award for “a proposal of a perfectly realized genre cinema”, also received the Award for the Best Editing for Robert Gryka, Wolfgang Weigel and Krzysztof Arszennik. The film will have its premiere on 8th of November.
In total, the films distributed by NEXT FILM received 9 out of 18 awards at the Festival.
