“Another Day of Life” by Damian Nenow and Raúl de la Fuente received the European Film Award for Best Animated Feature Film. The 31st European Film Awards were presented last weekend in Seville.
The production, distributed by NEXT FILM, was selected by the members of the European Film Academy from four nominated titles.
‘I would like to thank the Academy as well as our great international team of artists from Poland, Belgium, Spain, Hungary and Germany, a total of five hundred people. Thank you, you’re the best! One thing I’ve learned from Ryszard Kapuściński, our protagonist, is this: we should keep together, we should forget our individual perspectives. We should stop dividing the world, stop looking at it from the East to the West or from the West to the East, and most of all, from the North to the South. We should focus on people and on looking them straight in the eye. Let’s keep together, thank you!’ said Damian Nenow on stage.
Last year the same award went to another title distributed by NEXT FILM: “Loving Vincent”.
Just a few days prior to the ceremony in Seville the nominations for the Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars) were announced. “Another Day of life” is amongst the titles nominated for Best Animated Film. So far the Nenow – de la Fuente film has won four Audience Awards (at the festivals in San Sebastian, Bologna, Olsztyn and El Gouna). It was also presented with the European Animations Award, Emile, in the category for Best Soundtrack.17
