‘Gods’ wins the 39th Gdynia Film Festival

‘Gods’, directed by Łukasz Palkowski, was chosen the best movie of the 39th Gdynia Film Festival. ‘Gods’ received no less than 5 statues, including the Golden Lions Grand Prix, and the best leading actor award, presented to Tomasz Kot. The film was produced in association with Agora, and distributed by NEXT FILM, a member of the Helios Group. The film will have a nationwide Polish release on 10 October 2014.

‘Gods’, a fascinating story of prof. Zbigniew Religa, achieved wide success during the 39th Gdynia Film Festival. The movie enchanted the jury and won the festival’s highest award – Main Competition Grand Prix. The award was accepted by director Łukasz Palkowski and producer Piotr Woźniak-Starak, on behalf of the entire cast and crew.

Tomasz Kot, who played the role of Zbigniew Religa, received the award for Best Leading Actor. Krzysztof Rak was awarded for the screenplay. In addition, Wojciech Żegała won the Best Set Design award, and the prize for Best Makeup went to Agnieszka Hodowana and Aneta Brzozowska. The movie also received the Journalists’ Award, and the distinction of being the longest-applauded production of the Festival.
